Summary

My background as a web designer and developer has provided numerous advantages to in my new pursuits as an apparel designer over the past two years. After completing studies at Portland’s premier apparel trade school, Portland Sewing, I have developed valuable skills including garment construction, pattern making, and an overall understanding of the apparel development process. My goal is to continue expanding my knowledge and experience in the apparel industry.

APPAREL DESIGNER
Machine Apparel | Portland, OR | Jan 2014 - Present
Owner and designer for independent women’s apparel company. Responsibilities focus on apparel development—from pattern making and prototypes, to vectorized flats and tech packs. Also responsible for project management, product development, and communication with vendors. The company’s focus is on proper fit and construction of garment prototypes, samples, and high-quality product. 

PROJECT MANAGER
Copper Union Apparel | Portland, OR | July 2015 - Present
As a Project Manager for Copper Union—an independent women’s apparel company—my tasks include organizing resources and scheduling timelines for current and future collections in development. Additional responsibilities include producing clear and detailed technical sketches and tech packs, sourcing fabrics and trimmings, product costing, inventory management, and any additional support needed during the design and production cycle.

DESIGN ASSISTANT
Billy Wolf  NYC | Portland, OR | Feb 2015 - Present
Billy Wolf is creates handcrafted dog coats and accessories made in America. My tasks include producing clear and detailed technical sketches, communicating technical packages to factories, sourcing fabrics and trimmings, creating moldboards, and researching trends.

Assisted the apparel design team with various tasks including garment specs, fit notes, tech packs. Also managed the organization of samples for trade shows and photo shoots, concept research for Spring 2015 women’s collection.

Assisted full-time staff with costume construction for the 2012-13 season. Position required industrial sewing and hand sewing, material preparation, pattern making, fit and construction  alterations.

Freelance front-end developer with a focus on HTML5, CSS, and jQuery. Responsibilities included project management, client relations and communication, and overall product development from inception through production.
